The May 2014 meeting, held this time at the Medway Innovation Centre, was well attended by over a dozen of our members – with three businesses pitching, and a summary of recent investments discussed.
And not just elevator pitches, but great business presentations – round the table we business angels felt it had been the strongest field for some time of businesses seeking finance.
We had the June 2013 KIN meeting yesterday, which turned out to be one of the wettest days in Kent for a long time! But there was a very interesting debate going on inside, at our venue the Canterbury Innovation Centre up at the University; so the sheets of rain outside did not dampen enthusiasm for helping businesses to grow.
At the April meeting, in addition to the usual format looking at 3 or 4 business looking for angel investment, there was a round the table discussion on the various models members have used recently for Business Valuation, when investing.
Following proposal of a business Plan to the committee for a short-term funding decision, KIN was able at short notice to field six experienced business angels for a conference meeting.
At our February 2013 meeting we had an interesting array of business sectors, making their Dragon’s Den (*) style presentations.
KIN fielded a team of five to look into a business growth opportunity for an expanding Cloud Services company: with two members fronting at three initial meetings during the month.
