This week three of us KIN members, two with a software business background, had a fascinating meeting with a start-up that has come through the Seed Camp process. It seems that over a hundred start-ups have come through the SeedCamp process since it started up in the UK and Europe in around 2007
The November 2013 meeting of Kent Investment Network was held at the Canterbury Innovation Centre on the 14th – with an extra-early start at 9:30, as there were four businesses pitching, rather than the usual three.
Following proposal of a business Plan to the committee for a short-term funding decision, KIN was able at short notice to field six experienced business angels for a conference meeting.
KIN fielded a team of five to look into a business growth opportunity for an expanding Cloud Services company: with two members fronting at three initial meetings during the month.
The Kent Foundation run the annual Kent Entrepreneurs’ Initiative event, and in the run up to it they invite 10 budding entrepreneuers to practise their pitches at the ‘Business Challenge Success Session’.
