The June meeting on Medway was attended by about 20 members – and some interesting businesses pitched.
The Business Angels met on 27th February, a slightly smaller group of exactly a dozen, at one of our favourite locations, Canterbury Innovation Centre – with new businesses presenting, and a round up of the five most recent investments.
This week three of us KIN members, two with a software business background, had a fascinating meeting with a start-up that has come through the Seed Camp process. It seems that over a hundred start-ups have come through the SeedCamp process since it started up in the UK and Europe in around 2007
The November 2013 meeting of Kent Investment Network was held at the Canterbury Innovation Centre on the 14th – with an extra-early start at 9:30, as there were four businesses pitching, rather than the usual three.
And not just elevator pitches, but great business presentations – round the table we business angels felt it had been the strongest field for some time of businesses seeking finance.
We had the June 2013 KIN meeting yesterday, which turned out to be one of the wettest days in Kent for a long time! But there was a very interesting debate going on inside, at our venue the Canterbury Innovation Centre up at the University; so the sheets of rain outside did not dampen enthusiasm for helping businesses to grow.
The Kent Foundation run the annual Kent Entrepreneurs’ Initiative event, and in the run up to it they invite 10 budding entrepreneuers to practise their pitches at the ‘Business Challenge Success Session’.
